Every Kansan should have the opportunities provided through personal freedom to achieve prosperity and overall well-being, and the State of Kansas should be a model of economic and educational freedom to be emulated across the country.
Kansas Policy Institute is an independent think-tank that advocates for free market solutions, limited government, and the protection of personal freedom. Our work centers on state and local economic policy with primary emphasis on education, tax and fiscal policy, and transparency. We empower citizens, legislators, and other government officials with objective research and creative ideas to promote a low-tax, pro-growth environment that preserves the ability of governments to provide high quality services.
KPI was formed in 1996 in Wichita as a 501(c)3 non-profit research and educational organization. A second office was opened in Overland Park in 2012.
